Frank Habicht (72 years)is German. He lives and works in New-Zealand. Habicht first became interested in photography at the age of 14 when he began to develop his prime passion, his interest in photographing people. Frank looks for an expression, a spontaneous action or reaction, which reveals the essence of a person or a situation. He is fascinated by the situations which often pass unnoticed in the bustle of life or those which create an image of fan- tasy or add a touch of humor. He prefers to let his photographs speak for them- selves and evoke a response in the observer´s unconscious, rather than try to explain them in words. Frank says his main concern in photography is the proc- ess of communication to attempt to keep a situation alive by fusing observer and observed.
